SHOOT TO FAME WITH UDAAN
Udaan’s birth was a result of collective inspiration of leading photography professionals. They came together to lay the foundation of Udaan School of Photography, This institute aims to provide world class education in visuals arts in India. With the efforts that have been put in by Udaan’s extensive faculty, the students have made their teachers and the institute proud with awards and recognitions bestowed on them, which also includes a Pulitzer Prize nomination. Apart from the faculty, Udaan is situated in the heart of India’s advertising & entertainment capital. The photography school’s close proximity to the head offices of advertising agencies , film production companies, newspapers and other media organizations ensure that Udaan students are just a stone’s throw away from India’s top photographers, models, art directors, photo editors and future clients ! Exposing the students to an energetic, artistic and a professional environment makes it easy to get internships and other professional opportunities. Combined with the above, Udaan’s intensive technical and creative training prepares the students to meet global standards and participate in professional challenges and competitions. With several studios, the largest being around 2500 square feet (one of the largest in the city), the computer lab equipped with both Apple and and high end Windows PCs, an extensive library with the choicest of books in photography and visual arts, full HD 3D projectors for reviews, a spacious cafeteria, indoor sports facilities and more, Udaan provides an amazing learning environment to its students. Added to this, Udaan students get an hands-on experience in professional photojournalism with the help of an in-house online newspaper, ‘Mumbai Weekly’ , run by students and has a substantial viewership. Alumni of Udaan have gone to become cutting edge professionals and are working as full-time photographers in leading newspapers and magazines like ‘The Hindustan Times’, ‘The TImes of India’, ‘DNA’, ‘Indian Express’ and ‘India Today’ along with an international news agency like Reuters. Two students from Udaan reached the final round of the National Geographic Cover Shot that was telecast on the television. It was an Udaan student who recently shot the cover picture fot the prestigious Forbes Magazine - a distinction few photographers can boast off. Udaan combines technical innovations and creative experimentation. It aims to create new-age photographers, who will adapt to the ever-changing scenario in professional photography. It has trained over 2000 students and is on the right path to fulfill its collective dream.
