Top Indians to feature in charity golf event

Top Indian golfers like Gaganjeet Bhullar and Shubhankar Sharma as well as legendary cricketer Kapil Dev will be seen in action during the Champions for a Causechari­ty Golf Match, which aims to raise 1 crore for COVID19 relief, in New Delhi on July 11.

The charity exhibition match, touted as India’s rst live sport event during this ongoing pandemic, received a huge boost with top golng bodies in the country coming out to support it.

The Profession­al Golfers Tour of India (PGTI), the body that not only runs the country’s premier profession­al golf tour, but also cosanction­s the $1.75 million Hero Indian Open, has decided to support the charity match.

The Golf Industry Associatio­n (GIA), India’s largest representa­tive body of companies for golng equipment and infrastruc­ture space, and the Golf Course Superinten­dents and Managers Associatio­n of India (GCSMAI) have also pledged their support to the event.

Ninetime Asian Tour winner Bhullar and 201■ Asian Tour No.1 Shubhankar will be teaming up with Kapil and former India spinner Murali Kartik respective­ly at the renovated Delhi Golf Club course over 1■ holes in the exhibition match.
