GE Avi­a­tion ties up with Brazil­ian main­te­nance com­pa­nies


Amo­bile app devel­oped by Northrop Grum­man Cor­po­ra­tion that quickly cal­cu­lates trans­porta­tion re­quire­ments for large quan­ti­ties of op­er­a­tional ra­tions is avail­able for free through the Ap­ple App Store. Boe­ing Su­per Hor­net part­ner GE Avi­a­tion re­cently signed me­moranda of un­der­stand­ing (MoUs) with Brazil­ian com­pa­nies to be­come po­ten­tial sup­pli­ers for the pro­gramme’s global sup­ply chain, strength­en­ing the in-coun­try com­po­nent of Boe­ing’s F/A-18 of­fer­ing for the Brazil­ian F-X2 fighter jet com­pe­ti­tion.

The MoUs with Grauna Aero­space S.A., In­crease Avi­a­tion Ser­vice Ltd., TAP Main­te­nance and En­gi­neer­ing and AKAER pro­vide lo­cal ex­per­tise in dif­fer­ent ar­eas of air­craft main­te­nance, man­u­fac­tur­ing and en­gi­neer­ing.

The me­moranda out­line the po­ten­tial for GE Avi­a­tion to de­velop pro­grammes with the Brazil­ian com­pa­nies to es­tab­lish long-term air­craft sup­port within Brazil. The pro­grammes would in­clude tech­nol­ogy trans­fer as well as train­ing in main­te­nance and as­sem­bly and en­gine in­spec­tion and test­ing.
