Com­mu­ni­ca­tion chan­nels en­hanced be­tween armed forces and other agencies in Jammu and Kash­mir

The Govern­ment of In­dia in co­or­di­na­tion with the Jammu & Kash­mir ( J&K) govern­ment has ini­ti­ated sev­eral mea­sures to en­hance the com­mu­ni­ca­tion chan­nel be­tween the Army and other se­cu­rity forces of Cen­tral Govern­ment and the State Govern­ment for trans­mit­ting ter­ror­ist alerts in real time.

This is to meet any such fu­ture ex­i­gen­cies like the one that hap­pened on Septem­ber 26, 2013, at Army Camp in Samba and Po­lice Sta­tion in Hi­rana­gar in the district Kathua. The mea­sures in­clude strength­en­ing of se­cu­rity ap­pa­ra­tus and fur­ther fine-tun­ing them, prepa­ra­tion of stan­dard op­er­at­ing pro­ce­dures to meet such con­tin­gen­cies, strength­en­ing and in­sti­tu­tion­al­is­ing the com­mu­ni­ca­tion sys­tem, shar­ing the con­tact de­tails with dif­fer­ent forces at op­er­a­tional level, mea­sures to fur­ther plug the pos­si­ble in­fil­tra­tion routes, dis­sem­i­na­tion of ex­change of in­for­ma­tion and in­tel­li­gence at state, district and sub­di­vi­sional level, ac­cord­ing to R.P.N. Singh, Min­is­ter of State in the Min­istry of Home Af­fairs.
