Data breach of gi­ant re­tail­ers

The US Se­cret Ser­vice is re­port­edly look­ing into yet an­other data breach of a gi­ant re­tailer. How­ever, the re­tailer Sears has de­nied any breach. News of the in­ves­ti­ga­tion fol­lows sev­eral se­cu­rity breaches at US re­tail­ers, be­gin­ning with news that roughly 70 mil­lion credit- and debit-card cus­tomers had had per­sonal in­for­ma­tion ex­posed to hack­ers from Novem­ber 27 to De­cem­ber 15, 2013.

Since then, Neiman Mar­cus and Michaels Stores re­vealed their se­cu­rity sys­tems had been com­pro­mised. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are go­ing on to con­firm the ex­tent of dam­age as well as those af­fected. SP
