HAL con­ferred with ‘SCOPE Ex­cel­lence Award’


The Hin­dus­tan Aero­nau­tics Limited (HAL) has been con­ferred with ‘SCOPE Ex­cel­lence Award’ for out­stand­ing con­tri­bu­tion to the Pub­lic Sec­tor Man­age­ment. The Pres­i­dent of In­dia Pranab Mukher­jee pre­sented the pres­ti­gious award to T. Su­varna Raju, Chair­man and Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor of HAL at Delhi re­cently.

On re­ceiv­ing the award, Raju said, “Bestowal of SCOPE Ex­cel­lence Award val­i­dates the work we are do­ing at HAL with pas­sion. The award fur­ther mo­ti­vates us to ex­cel and de­liver on our prom­ises”. The cov­eted award was pre­sented to HAL un­der in­sti­tu­tional cat­e­gory for the year 2011-12.

Sig­nif­i­cantly, HAL’s turnover has surged to ` 16,524 crore for the fi­nan­cial year 2015-16 with PBT stand­ing at ` 3,210 crore for the year. HAL made a con­tri­bu­tion of ` 4,284 crore to the govern­ment as buy­back of 25 per cent of the share cap­i­tal and free re­serves apart from pay­ing a div­i­dend of ` 510 crore for the FY 2015-16.
