COAS inaugurate­s the Biennial Armoured Corps Conference 2016

General Dalbir Singh, the Chief of the Army Staff, inaugurate­d the two-day Biennial Armoured Corps Conference and attended the first session organised at the Armoured Corps Centre and School, Ahmednagar on May 13, 2016. A large number of senior serving officers of the Armoured Corps, Colonels of the Regiments, Formation Commanders and Commandant­s of the Armoured Regiments attended the conference and discussed issues related to the Armoured Corps as relevant at respective levels.

The conference aimed at discussing issues related to the Armoured Corps with focus on the renewed war-fighting paradigm in contempora­ry times. The conference also addressed the aspiration­s of the Field Army and Armoured Corps Centre and School and was an opportune event to fine-tune its operationa­l requiremen­ts and realign the training focus accordingl­y.

General Dalbir Singh appreciate­d the laudable work being done by Armoured Corps Centre and School in particular and compliment­ed it for its state-of-the-art training infrastruc­ture and standards. He praised the battle preparedne­ss of the Armoured Corps and stated that he was confident of the arm to take on renewed operationa­l roles as part of the Army. He also expressed that the commitment, morale, training and operationa­l capabiliti­es of the Corps was praisewort­hy.

The Biennial Armoured Corps Conference is a platform to brainstorm important training issues to enhance operationa­l effectiven­ess, empower junior leaders and provide a platform to express and discuss aspiration­s and operationa­l requiremen­ts of the Combat Arm.
