VICe ADMIRAl AjeNDRA BAHADUR SINGH, took over as chief of staff, Western Naval command on January 15, 2018. Vice Admiral AB singh was the Deputy commanderi­n-chief, strategic Forces command prior to his current appointmen­t. He was commission­ed into the indian Navy on July 1, 1983. He is a specialist in Navigation and Aircraft Direction. He has commanded iNs Veer (Missile Vessel), Vindhyagir­i (Frigate), trishul (Guided Missile Frigate) and Viraat (Aircraft carrier). Promoted to Flag rank in 2012, he has since tenanted key appointmen­ts like, Assistant chief of Naval staff (Policy and Plans) at Naval Headquarte­rs and Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet. ReAR ADMIRAl MUkUl ASTHANA has been appointed as the Assistant chief of Naval staff (Air) at Naval HQs. He was commission­ed in 1986 in the Executive Branch of the indian Navy. An experience­d pilot, he has flown four types of aircraft and held operationa­l and supervisor­y assignment­s in indian Naval Air squadrons 551, 550 and 310, the iW squadron. ReAR ADMIRAl SHISHIR C. VeRMA has taken over as the Assistant chief of Naval staff (special submarine Projects) at Naval HQs. He was commission­ed into the indian Navy on July 1, 1987, and has done specialist tenures on Foxtrot and Kilo class submarines. His staff assignment­s include Officer-in-Charge Submarine school, Director of submarine Operations, Principal Director submarine Operation and Principal Director Nuclear Acquisitio­n. ReAR ADMIRAl ATUl ANAND has been appointed as the Assistant chief of Naval staff Ð Foreign cooperatio­n and intelligen­ce {AcNs (Fci)} at Naval HQs. He was commission­ed in 1988, is a specialist in Navigation and Direction. His naval career include the command of corvette iNs Khukri and the Destroyer iNs Mumbai. ReAR ADMIRAl D.S. GUjRAl has taken over as Assistant chief of Naval staff (communicat­ions space and Net-centric Operations) at Naval HQs. He was commission­ed on January 1, 1987. A Communicat­ion and Electronic­s Warfare specialist, his afloat appointmen­ts include the command of iNs Nishank, iNs Karmuk and iNs trishul. ReAR ADMIRAl R. SwAMINATHA­N, has taken over as Assistant chief of Materiel (Modernisat­ion) Naval HQs. Commission­ed in 1987, the Admiral is a post graduate from iit Kharagpur. He was also involved in the acquisitio­n of Aircraft carrier Vikramadit­ya, as Warship Production superinten­dent in russia and as Principal Director Aircraft carrier Projects in Delhi. ReAR ADMIRAl SANjAy VATSAyAN, has taken over as the Assistant chief of Naval staff (Policy & Plans) at Naval HQs. He was commission­ed into the indian Navy on January 1, 1988, and has specialise­d in Gunnery and Missile systems. He has commanded Missile vessels iNs Vibhuti and iNs Nashak, missile corvette iNs Kuthar and Guided Missile Frigate iNs sahyadri (commission­ing crew). ReAR ADMIRAl PHIlIPoSe G. PyNUMooTIl has taken over as Flag Officer Naval Aviation (FONA). He was commission­ed in the indian Navy on January 1, 1986. A helicopter pilot, qualified on the Sea King 42 B/c and Alouette, he has commanded iNAs 330, the carrier borne AsW sea King squadron and was the commission­ing Commanding Officer of the Naval Air station, iNs shikra. ReAR ADMIRAl SANjAy jASjIT SINGH, has been appointed as the Flag Officer Sea Training, at Kochi. He was commission­ed in 1986 and specialise­d in Navigation and Direction. His sea command appointmen­ts include command of the AsW and uAV-control Frigate iNs taragiri and the multi-role Frigate iNs trishul. His staff appointmen­ts include indian Naval AttachŽ at iran, and the Joint Director of Personnel and Principal Director of Naval Operations. ReAR ADMIRAl MD SUReSH has taken over as Assistant chief of integrated Defence staff in Headquarte­rs integrated Defence staff (HQ iDs). in his earlier appointmen­ts, he was selected to commission the indian NavyÕs first stealth frigate iNs talwar, as the Executive Officer, in st Petersburg, russia. He was also the commission­ing commanding officer of the indian NavyÕs first indigenous stealth frigate iNs shivalik.
