Sonali’s ready for her Xpose

Sonali Raut ( who’s the younger sister of supermodel Ujjwala Raut) makes her Bollywood debut with the recently released The Xpose. Sonali has been the subject of much discussion after her bare- it- all scene in The Xpose, inspired by Zeenat Aman in Satyam Shivam Sundaram, was first released.

“Our director explained exactly what I had to do. I was shown the scene from Satyam Shivam Sundaram as a reference and I watched the entire film before shooting the scene. At first I was conscious and wore a bodysuit but then I thought it should look natural onscreen, so I agreed to go topless. I felt beautiful when filming it and the shot was okayed in a single take,” she say.

There were also reports that Sonali did not get along very well with co- star Zoya Afroz and that they fought during the film’s promotion. Sonali rubbishes these stories with a laugh and says, “The catfight is in the film,

otherwise we are cordial off screen. We met at the workshops and we aren’t the best of friends but aren’t enemies either.”

So is Sonali nervous about her first release? “I am a bit nervous but I am also confident as I know I have done a good job. Ujjawala has been giving me tips about what to do and how to be confident,” she says.

As for how she bagged her first role, Sonali says, “Casting director Honey Trehan had offered me another movie but then this offer came along. I liked the story and I was given a choice of two roles ( the other is the one played by Zoya). I chose this particular role because it is challenging; strong as well as glamorous.”
