Wheels again in motion

The bureaucracy in key central ministries is upbeat with the Lok Sabha poll results. While there are not many who are feeling at a loss with the exit of the Congress- led UPA government, the chorus is that the decision- making process will be faster, clearer and the administrative machinery will work efficiently with a stable government at the Centre. There had been a significant slowdown in the last few months as the election process had kickstarted in the country.

While the wheels of administration are moving again in the home ministry, the stunning defeat the outgoing home minister Sushilkumar Shinde suffered shocked many in the North Block. Friday evening saw his office staff quickly getting their things in order to pack up and move on as soon as possible.
