Alia’s workout mantras

ALIA BHATT

Losing bulk weight for a film is no joke guys, but I did it with determination to look the part. Of course, it was gruelling for me before making my onscreen debut but now fitness has seeped into my daily system.

You don’t really have to be a regular at the gym to maintain your shape and weight. Once you find out what is best for your body, you then tend to go with the flow.

What does the trick for me is cardio exercises plus yoga. Also if time allows, a quick warm up on the treadmill, squats, forwardbackward lunges, a brisk jog and some freehand exercises sufficiently boost up my workout routine.

I always follow a low carb diet and drink plenty of water, since it’s important to keep yourself hydrated all the time, especially during the dry, hot summers. Another valid reason is that water helps the body to rapidly lose weight.

Junk and oily food is strictly prohibited in my profession which is why it often becomes a tad difficult resisting tempation. A platter of fresh greens and fruits is a nutritious treat for me.

Health is like an asset so upkeep it as your fixed deposit to earn a high rate of returns every year. I love Indian fare and hence in my spare time, I even rustle up my favourite dishes alongwith my mom in the kitchen.

Alia is an actor.
