TIRATH DENIES INFIGHTING LED TO HER DEFEAT

- AGE CORRESPONDENT

Congress leader Krishna Tirath, who lost to BJP’s Udit Raj, on Friday said a single person or the government cannot be held guilty for the humiliating defeat of the Congress party. She said the reasons for defeat would be discussed in the party meeting.

When asked whether infighting within the party led to her defeat, she said these were all rumours.

AAP leader and Mangolpuri MLA Rakhi Birla, who grabbed the second position, said she never expected such results.

“I welcome the election results but we have not lost hope,” she said. BJP leader Udit Raj, who bagged the seat with a huge margin, said the day he filled his nomination papers, he knew he would win.
