Volunteers want to join back old jobs

- AGE CORRESPONDENT

Disappointed with the party’s dismal performance in the Lok Sabha elections, many AAP volunteers, who had quit their jobs to join the party, have planned to return to their workplaces. The disenchanted volunteers, who fear a bleak future for the newbie party after its crushing defeat, asserted that they will have to go back to the daily grind of their jobs to eke out living.

Many of the volunteers, who were working with the reputed organisations, said they are ready to take up their previous jobs, even if the employer is paying much less than the past remuneration. “I was working as an engineer with Oracle Mumbai and was earning ` 30,000 per month. But now the same company is offering ` 20,000 for the same designation. I have no option, but to go back as I need a headstart,” a volunteer said.
