RARE GREYWOLF SHOT BY MISTAKE

Arare wolf species that has not been spotted for around 89 years was shot dead after a hunter mistook it for a coyote. The unfortunat­e incident happened in Iowa. Grey wolves have not been seen in the US state since 1925 and are protected under state code. They are around 26- 27 inches tall, can grow up to 6 feet tall and feast on deers, elks and other wild mammals. No action has been taken against the man, who fully cooperated with authoritie­s, after DNA testing confirmed the true identity of his prey.
