RARE GREYWOLF SHOT BY MISTAKE
Arare wolf species that has not been spotted for around 89 years was shot dead after a hunter mistook it for a coyote. The unfortunate incident happened in Iowa. Grey wolves have not been seen in the US state since 1925 and are protected under state code. They are around 26- 27 inches tall, can grow up to 6 feet tall and feast on deers, elks and other wild mammals. No action has been taken against the man, who fully cooperated with authorities, after DNA testing confirmed the true identity of his prey.
