A round of rapid fire with Nakuul

- NATASHA COUTINHO

Nakuul Mehta, who plays the charming Adi from

Pyaar Ka Dard Hai speaks to us about the person beyond the character.

Songs on my mind —

Kabira from Yeh Jawaani

Hai Deewani . It brings back lots of memories and gives me an emotional high. Personal style — Though I like shopping, I am quite impatient. I go with an agenda and quickly pick up what I like. I’m not too fashion conscious. You will always find me in a simple jeans and T- shirt or shorts and a T- shirt. Colours that fill my wardrobe — Blue, white and a lot of pink — even if that sounds odd for a guy! Favourite cuisines — I live to eat and can have anything. But I’m happiest with homemade rajma and chawal. What makes me smile — Reading a good scene or a good book. What annoys me — Incompetency or making excuses — it’s a very Indian thing to do. Best compliment I received — It was from Madhuri Dixit. At the Iifa awards, she told me “You really know how to compliment a woman”. Favourite co- star — I will say Disha Parmar, simply because I’ve shot the longest with her. Favourite hangouts — My regularly haunt is Copa, a restaurant next to my house in Mumbai. Besides that, Film City where I shoot is my hangout by default. Most memorable vacation — My latest holiday in Kashmir has been most memorable. Kashmir surely beats Switzerland in terms of beauty. We were in Gulmarg and it’s heaven on earth. A dream yet to be fulfilled — To make my parents proud with the work I do and be the kind of person they would want me to be. That’s something I’m constantly working towards. Most romantic gesture for wife Jankee — Every year on our wedding anniversary or on her birthday, I make it a point to write a poem for her. That’s something she really likes.
