City uses 13.6% Plan outlay

AGE CORRESPOND­ENT In the first quarter, various department­s of the city government utilised 13.6 per cent of the total Plan outlay for the year. The department­s have been able to utilise 13.6 per cent of ` 16,000 crores till now, which is two per cent more than last year. In the correspond­ing period of the last year, Plan funds of ` 1,864 crores ( 11.7 per cent of the approved outlay) were utilised. “All the department­s of the Delhi government have spent an amount of ` 2,168 crores during the first quarter of the current financial year. The revenue- generating department­s of the city administra­tion have collected an amount of ` 5,689 crores in the first quarter of the current financial year,” a Delhi government official said.

The PWD has utilised 18.5 per cent (` 592 crores) of its Plan outlay of ` 3,202 crores on various projects in the first quarter of the current financial year. “In the water supply and sanitation sector, 17.5 per cent of the allocated budget has been utilised, followed by 16 per cent in the education sector, 14 per cent in transport and 13 per cent each by the health, urban developmen­t and social security and welfare department­s,” the official added.

All Plan- implementi­ng department­s of the Delhi government have spent an amount of ` 2,168 crores during the first quarter of the current financial year. Utilisatio­n of Plan funds in the first quarter is 13.6 per cent of the approved annual Plan outlay of ` 16,000 crores. The revenuegen­erating department­s have collected an amount of ` 5,689 crores in the first quarter of the current financial year, which is 18 per cent of the total tax revenue target of the government of ` 31,571 crores. “The collection under VAT during the first quarter is ` 3,743 crores followed by ` 827 crores, under stamp and registrati­on fees, ` 696 crores under state excise, ` 363 crores under taxes on motor vehicles and ` 60 crores from other taxes and duties,” the official added.
