- AGE CORRESPONDENT

A 16- year- old boy was mur

dered by unidentified assailants who slit his throat in Sadar Bazar area of north district late on Friday night. Preliminary investigation suggests that the victim, identified as Edu, had an argument with some youth over filling of water bottle from a public tap, following which his throat was slit and he bled to death. According to the police, they received a call at about 12.15 am. Edu was rushed to the Bara Hindu Rao Hospital where he was declared brought dead by the doctors. A case of murder was registered at the Sadar Bazar police station. During probe, the investigating officials learnt that Edu, who worked as a labourer, was going to fill his water bottle from a nearby public tap when he had an argument with some local boys. The assailants escaped from the spot after the incident, the police said, adding that an empty water bottle was found lying close to his body. Edu, a native of Bihar, was staying with his cousin in Gali Kumhari Wali in Sadar Bazar area for the past few years. It is not clear what was the reason behind this fatal attack on him and who carried it out. His body has been sent for autopsy and further investigation is on, said the police. A senior police officer said that they have detained a few suspects who are being interrogated and that the case will be cracked soon. “Though we suspect it to be a case of road rage, we are probing it from all possible angles,” added the senior police officer.
