AP Cabinet to discuss capital today

- AGE CORRESPONDENT

The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet on Monday will discuss important issues like the location of the state capital and the state land acquisition policy.

The state needs around 30,000 acre for the new capital and the Central government’s new Land Acquisition Act has made acquiring land very difficult.

The AP revenue department has prepared a land acquisition policy against this background.

On Monday, the Cabinet will discuss the new land acquisition policy and is likely to take a decision.

According to the Centre’s new act, if the state government acquires 10 acre of land from private individuals, it has to give 10 acre to the person at a different place.

The state government has proposed land acquisition from private individuals at a 60: 40 ratio.

If the Andhra government acquires 100 acre from private persons, it will return 40 acre to the owner after developing it with all infrastructure facilities like water, power, roads etc.

After the approval of the land acquisition policy by the Cabinet, the state government will issue a notification, calling for objections from the public.
