DMK clarifies Stalin’s comments on FB

-

Chennai: DMK on Sunday said comments greeting people on the occasion of Vinayaka Chaturthi on party treasurer M. K. Stalin’s social networking page were put up by those operating it, without seeking his permission.

“There is a comment in his social networking portal extending his greetings to people on the occasion of Vinayaka Chaturthi. The people who handle his portal have commented out of enthusiasm. It has been made without seeking the consent of M K Stalin,” the party said in a statement.

Vinayaka Chaturthi ( Ganesh Chaturthi) was celebrated on August 29 and a comment on Mr Stalin’s official Facebook page says “Greetings to all on the occasion of Vinayaka Chaturthi”. The posting has stirred up a storm as it ran contrary to Mr Stalin’s father, DMK chief M. Karunanidhi’s practice of not greeting people on Hindu festivals.
