EC orders transfer of Moradabad SSP

Lucknow: The Election Commission, acting on a complaint submitted by the BJP, has ordered the removal of Moradabad SSP, Dharamvir Yadav. By- elections are being held in Thakurdwara assembly segment in Moradabad. The BJP has filed a complaint against the police officer last month and had accused him of being a “SP agent”. The BJP had alleged that the officer had willfully taken action against BJP workers who were protesting in Moradabad over the removal of a loudspeaker from a place of worship. The SSP, on his part, had claimed that BJP workers were trying to fuel communal tension in the area.
