- RAJIB CHOWDHURI

The special investigation team ( SIT) of the Central Bureau of Investigation ( CBI) probing the multicrore Saradha scam is going to submit an interim report containing the status of its investigation to the agency’s top brass in New Delhi this week. The report was sought to the SIT led by CBI joint director ( North East) Rajiv Singh apparently to add more pace and teeth in the ongoing probe, according to sources.

Apart from the names of the two accused arrested, the report will contain their revelations, the names of suspects including the influentials questioned, places where raids were conducted and details of seizure, sources revealed. Examining the report the senior CBI officers will give instructions to the SIT for the next course of investigation.

Meanwhile businessman Rajesh Bajaj and singer turned film- maker Sadananda Gogoi of Assam were again questioned by the CBI over several hours on Sunday. This was the fifth time Mr Bajaj was grilled while Mr Gogoi for the third time. While leaving the CGO Complex in Salt Lake in the evening both said that they were asked to appear again in future.

Sources added that the investigators are yet to be satisfied with their versions. Saradha owner Sudipta Sen told the CBI that he did not get his money back from Mr Bajaj.
