IAF OFFICER CAUGHT NEAR PAK BORDER

Jaipur: An IAF officer, who was on leave and apparently in a disturbed state of mind, was caught roaming near the Indo- Pak border by BSF in Rajasthan’s Srigangana­gar district. “Wing Commander Shashank Shekar was caught by BSF on Sunday evening close to the border in Anupgarh area of the district. The BSF handed over him to us and he is being interrogat­ed at the Anupgarh police station,” additional SP Srigangang­ar Devendra Bishnoi said. “Initially, he said that he was mentally disturbed and came here on leave from Ambala,” he said. Defence spokespers­on Col. S. D. Goswami said that a probe has been ordered by the Air Force to ascertain the facts. “The officer posted at Ambala is suffering from hallucinat­ion. A probe has been ordered,” Mr Goswami said. Four districts, including Srigangana­gar, in the desert state share 1,070km long border with Pakistan. —
