Jaipur: An IAF of­fi­cer, who was on leave and ap­par­ently in a dis­turbed state of mind, was caught roam­ing near the Indo- Pak bor­der by BSF in Ra­jasthan’s Srigangana­gar dis­trict. “Wing Com­man­der Shashank Shekar was caught by BSF on Sun­day evening close to the bor­der in Anup­garh area of the dis­trict. The BSF handed over him to us and he is be­ing in­ter­ro­gated at the Anup­garh po­lice sta­tion,” ad­di­tional SP Sri­g­an­gan­gar Deven­dra Bish­noi said. “Ini­tially, he said that he was men­tally dis­turbed and came here on leave from Am­bala,” he said. De­fence spokesper­son Col. S. D. Goswami said that a probe has been or­dered by the Air Force to as­cer­tain the facts. “The of­fi­cer posted at Am­bala is suf­fer­ing from hal­lu­ci­na­tion. A probe has been or­dered,” Mr Goswami said. Four dis­tricts, in­clud­ing Srigangana­gar, in the desert state share 1,070km long bor­der with Pak­istan. —
