600 Nax­als camp­ing in Bastar: In­tel

Around 600 Naxal cadres, in­clud­ing three mem­bers of Cen­tral Com­mit­tee of banned CPI ( Maoist), have been camp­ing in jun­gles un­der Darbha area in Ch­hat­tis­garh’s Bastar dis­trict, pre­par­ing to strike in a big way in com­ing days in the con­flict zone, in­tel­li­gence has alerted.

A se­nior po­lice of­fi­cer, quot­ing in­tel­li­gence re­ports, told this news­pa­per here on Mon­day that three key Naxal lead­ers — Ra­manna alias Ravulu Srini­vas, Devji and Pankaj — were sighted in Darbha jun­gles be­ing sur­rounded by a cou­ple of mil­i­tary pla­toons of the reds in re­cent times. “More than 600 Naxal cadres in­clud­ing armed guer­ril­las have as­sem­bled in jun­gles in Darbha area,” he said.
