Hindu group for reality show ban
Panaji: Hindu Janjagruti Samiti ( HJS), a rightwing Hindu group, on Monday demanded a ban on the reality TV show MTV Splitsvilla, claiming “it erodes culture and morality”. The organisation also demands censorship of TV shows on the whole. “The impact of such reality shows is so much that it erodes culture and morality in the youth which are the future responsible citizens of this country,” HJS spokesman Ramesh Shinde said in a press release. The show, hosted by Sunny Leone and VJ Nikhil Chinnapa, is in its seventh season. —
