‘ FAKE NOTES VIA BANGLA NARCO ROUTE’

- RABINDRA NATH CHOUDHURY

Counterfeit notes have been trafficked to Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh from Bangladesh through the “narcotic corridor” in eastern India, an alleged ring leader of a fake currency supplier gang disclosed during interrogation by police.

“The counterfeit notes traffickers are now using the narcotic corridor in eastern India to dump the fake currencies in Central India after sourcing them from Bangladesh. This was revealed when a fake currency racket was busted at Laripani in Raighar district,” local superintendent of police Rahul Bhagat told this newspaper on Tuesday. Four people were arrested with counterfeit notes.
