New month and new releases too

- ISHAAN ARYA

September is the traditional month of game releases and as a bonus, India gets closer to its long awaited Xbox One Launch. But that’s not all, there will also be a new set of free games for PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold subscribers through their respective programmes.

Starting today, September 3, PlayStation plus is bringing in two free indie titles to PlayStation 4 in the form of the whacky Sportsfriends, the crazy local multiplayer title that is bound to have you in a fit, and the newly- released Velocity 2x, where you travel across new worlds, alien bases and space stations battling an evil empire.

Vita users can get their hands on the psychedelics shooter Txk and JoeDanger. Playstation 3 probably has the best offering this month with coop adventure Hoard, where you get to pillage castles, terrorize castles and kidnap princesses with friends. The second game is Sony exclusive PlayStation All- Stars Battle Royale; a fun fighter featuring all your favourite Sony characters. Sony seems to be pushing their users towards the PlayStation 4 with relatively weak PlayStation 3 offerings through PS Plus. However, the PS4 game library might be half a reason to migrate their PS Plus offerings because PS4 have had users cringing for months now with AAA titles nowhere in sight.

In comparison, Xbox One users can get their hands on Super Time Force; think contra with time- stopping abilities that let you reset should you die. Xbox 360, on the other hand, is offering the hit stealth heist game, Monaco: Whats Yours Is Mine for the first half of September followed by the blockbuster Halo Reach, seemingly a build- up to the launch of the Halo Master Chief Collection, which itself is a steal with 4 full Halo games bundled into one purchase for the Xbox One.
