Sena’s Anant Geete is at Modi’s dinner
A day after party’s victories in Haryana and Maharashtra, PM Narendra Modi hosted all his 44 ministers to dinner at his official residence here. The most interesting of all was that Anant Geete, the Shiv Sena minister in the Union government, also flew down from Mumbai to attend the event.
A day after the party’s victories in Maharashtra and Haryana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted all his 44 ministers to dinner on Monday night at his official residence here.
The most interesting of all was that Mr Anant Geete, the Shiv Sena minister in the Union government, was also flown down from Mumbai to attend the event.
The Shiv Sena and the BJP are at a delicate point in their relations, as the ruling saffron party gears up to form the new government in Maharashtra and it has to decide whether it will tie- up with the Sena after an acrimonious split in September ahead of the Assembly elections in the state.
Negotiations for a reunion are yet to begin. It is learnt that the dinner was first of its kind since the BJP formed the government at the Centre in May this year. The menu at dinner table was a pep- talk from the Prime Minister.
He also discussed the government’s plans to push through important reforms like the Foreign Direct Investment ( FDI) in insurance through Parliament in the Winter Session.
Over this weekend, the Modi government had freed diesel prices from government control, which is aimed at ending the country’s one of the costliest subsidies.
