- AGE CORRESPONDENT

In a bid to ensure cleanliness and maintain sanitation standards across the country, Charities Aid Foundation India, a not- for- profit organisation working to make giving more effective and NGOs more successful in India, on Thursday launched a community- driven initiative — Click2Clean.

The unique initiative, which aims to “clean up” selected unclean and littered public spaces in cities, through collective action by citizens, governments and the private sector, is initially being rolled out in Delhi NCR ( Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad) on Thursday and will later cover cities across the country. Through the Click2Clean campaign, citizens of Delhi NCR can click and upload photographs of “unclean” and littered public spaces, after which a screening committee will select 100 sites from all the images it receives and ensure the sites become litter- free within a given timeframe.

A new page on Facebook has been created to help citizens upload images. The campaign has received support from Pro Kabaddi League team Dabang Delhi and singer Jubin Nautiyal.
