The CBI on Thursday conducted searches at 12 locations in Delhi and the National Capital Region at the premises of the directors of four firms in connection with the case of alleged corruption against suspended Noida chief engineer Yadav Singh.

The Enforcement Directorate also slapped money laundering charges in two separate cases against Mr Singh on Thursday. The probe agency has based its Prevention of Money Laundering Act ( PMLA) FIRs on two complaints filed by the CBI against Mr Singh in August. “Two cases have been registered under PMLA against Singh for amassing wealth through alleged illegal means,” sources in the ED said. According to CBI sources, offices of four firms namely — NKG Infrastructure, Anand Buildtech Private Limited, Tirupati Constructions and JSP Constructions — which were allegedly awarded contracts by Mr Singh, were searched. It is believed that directors of all the companies are from directors in Anand Buildtech), V. K. Goyal ( director, Tirupati Construction) and Sanjay Jain ( JSP Construction) were searched as part of the operation. The search spanned across 12 locations in Delhi, Ghaziabad and Noida. In addition, search was also conducted in the office of a hotel at Noida, which is allegedly a joint venture of two firms — Anand Buildtech and NKG Infrastructure. “The relevant files and documents of the case, laptops, Ipads and computers from the office premises are being scrutinised,” the sources said.
