Dwarka realtor shot dead, police gets CCTV footage

A 41- year- old property dealer was shot dead by 3- 4 unidentifi­ed assailants in Southwest Delhi’s Dwarka area late on Wednesday night.

The police has got hold of the CCTV footage from a nearby shop that shows at least three persons opening fire at the property dealer, who is sitting in his Hyundai i10 car.

Initial investigat­ions suggest personal enmity to be the reason behind the attack.

property dealing business. “Late on Wednesday night, he left for his house after closing the office,” said the police, adding, “a little away from his office near Old Palam Road, a Maruti Swift signaled him to stop after overtaking.”

The police said that as soon as he stopped, three muffled men got off the Swift car and opened fire at the victim. At least a dozen rounds were fired during the incident. Six bullets were pumped into the victim’s chest, head and abdomen. The attackers fled the spot soon after.

A passerby informed the police and a PCR van reached the spot. The police rushed Ravinder to the hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. The police has recovered five cartridges from the spot. A case of murder has been registered at Dwarka North Police station and efforts are being made to identify the culprits.

The victim’s family has reportedly told police that he had a dispute with some men over a plot in Nazafgarh, claims the cops.

“We have detained a few persons and are hopeful of cracking the case soon,” added a senior police officer on condition of anonymity.
