In a much- awaited clash, BK Hacken from Sweden overcame East Bengal Football Club 2- 1 in a junior boys ( U- 17) Pool H match of the 56th Subroto Cup schools football tournament at Ambedkar Stadium in the capital on Wednesday.

Indonesia’s Daftar Nama Kontingen routed Goa’s Government Higher Secondary School 7- 0 in Pool F.

At the NWC grounds, the match between IPSC and Tata Football Academy School ended in a 3- 3 draw in Pool E, while Delhi Public School ( Panipat) cruised to a 3- 0 win over the Lakshadweep entry in a Pool F game.

The game between Hacken and East Bengal went on expected lines.

Playing a tight game, the Swedish boys put the East Bengal side under pressure for a major part of the tie. They went ahead in the 36th minute when Joel Mumbango found the net.

Stung by the goal, East Bengal counter- attacked but the teams went into the break with BK Hacken leading 1- 0.

On resumption, Joel once again hit the target within 10 minutes to consolidate their lead. However, East Bengal FC struck through Mohammad Imran Mondal in the 50th minute.

Following that, BK Hacken plugged the gaps and did not let another goal slip through their defence.

In Pool F, it was an easy affair for the Indonesian side with no resistance coming from their Goan opponents. DNK opened their account as early as in the fourth minute and continued the onslaught till the 68th minute — both goals struck by P. Risdianto.

M. Hambali ( 37th minute) scored once even as substitutes Rizky Aprillia and Egy Maulana hit a brace each to complete the rout for Daftar Nama Kontingen.

The game between IPSC and TFAS turned out to be an interesting duel. TFAS took the lead in the second minute thanks to Swarnim’s effort.

But their joy was short- lived as Aayush Steve restored parity in the 18th minute before Mayank Rochlani put them in lead in the 33rd minute.

After change of ends, TFAS played a tight game and made it 2- 2 when Rishab scored within a minute of resumption. Steve scored his second goal in the 68th minute but even before they could celebrate it, Deeraj found the target at the injury time to share the points.
