- AGE CORRESPONDENT

A 35- year- old woman from Meghalaya was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her rented accommodation in west Delhi’s Janakpuri area on Tuesday.

The woman has been identified by the police as Bahun Marbaninang, a native of Meghalaya. There were apparently some injury marks on her knees, but the cause of her death has not been ascertained as yet. “We will be sending the body for an autopsy once the family of the deceased reaches Delhi and on the basis of its report, we will take further action in the matter,” said a senior police officer, adding, “The matter came to light on Tuesday morning following which her relatives were informed.”

During preliminary investigation, it emerged that the woman had returned home in the early hours on Tuesday from a party organised by one of her friends, who is the son of the owner of a private school in the area.

“We are questioning her associates in order to construct a sequence of events in connection with the matter. No case has been registered so far,” the senior official said, adding, “We have identified the persons who were with her in the party last night and will question them one by one.”

Besides, the cops said, her call details are also being scrutinised. “We have got some clues from the analysis of her call details and are working on them,” said a senior police officer, adding, “CCTV footage in the area around her house is also being checked.”
