‘ MENTORING KIDS ON MUSIC SHOW GREAT EXPERIENCE’

Neeti Mohan is excited to make herde but as a judge on The Voice India Kids as the singer says she will get an opportunit­y to mentor young children. The Mohabbat Buri Bimari, hitmaker, 36, who herself started her career in showbiz with reality show Popstars, said she wants to give back to the music industry. “I came from a reality show and my whole family including my sisters Shakti and Mukti Mohan have achieved fame through reality shows. I am really happy to be on the judging panel. It’s time for new talents. Mentoring them will be a new experience for me and I am really looking forward to it,” Neeti told PTI in an interview. As TV is bombarded with talent hunt shows, the Delhi- born singer feels kids should make the most of the opportunit­y they get through reality shows. “Nowadays TV is exploding with reality shows. So many new talents are coming up. The competitio­n has gone up. But there are enough opportunit­ies for everyone. It’s up to the contestant­s to make the most out of it.” When asked what advice she will give to budding singers, she said, “You always have to keep yourself polished. Training is important. Learning music is always important. There is no shortcut.” The Voice India Kids will go on air on & TV next month. Neeti said she is lucky to have worked with music maestro AR Rahman in Jab Tak Hai Jaan, who she counts as one of her favourite composers. “I have been one of the fortunate people to work with A R Rahman in a film and also many stage shows. It is always a pleasure.”
