Jain in row over role of daughter in AAP project
Attacking the Aam Aadmi Party ( AAP) government over the appointment of Soumya Jain, daughter of Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain, as advisor for the Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinics, Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay said that the nepotism in appointments and corruption in administration has reached its zenith under the Arvind Kejriwal government.
Mr Upadhyay has alleged that on the one hand the CM appointed workers connected with the party and various NGOs on co- terminus basis, and on the other, hundreds have been appointed as advisors.
“Mohalla Clinics have been opened in the houses of party workers providing them means of income. The appointment of the health minister’s daughter as advisor for the clinics is a case of clash of interest and this appointment should be cancelled immediately,” said Mr Upadhyay. Questioning the appointment, Mr Upadhyay further said that Mohalla Clinics has been a controversial scheme and the way in which the daughter of the health minister has been appointed as implementation advisor indicates that the decision of the government is not honest.
“Appointing his own daughter in his own department by any minister is irregularity under administrative system. Government should also state whether the minister issued any public notice or gave opportunity to the other eligible persons before appointing his daughter as advisor,” he asked.
The BJP demanded that the Delhi government should publicly state whether Ms Jain receives any remuneration from any other department of the government.
