Karan, Himadri crowned champs

Karan Pratap Singh finished off with a flourish winning the Category A boys’ section ahead of Sunhit Bishnoi on Friday at the Delhi Golf Club in the 10th edition of the Usha DGC juniors golf championsh­ip.

In Category B girls, Himadari Singh lifted the trophy edging past Yavnika Duhan.

Karan was rewarded for his consistent­ly good performanc­e over the four days as he finished with a two- under 70 on Friday, to aggregate 289 which was ten strokes less than Bishnoi.

Bishnoi had a card of 75 while Daksh Shokeen with a par- 72 and an even 300 aggregate was third. Karan teed off with a birdie and added another on the sixth before dropping shots on the 13th and 14th. He however recovered well with two more birdies on the 15th and 18th holes.

In Category B, Harshjeet Singh Sethi finished with par 72 and an aggregate of 296, which not only gave him the win but also placed him second on the combined A and B list.

Raghav Chugh ( 77, 307)) and Aryaman Mahant ( 78, 316) followed.

Tanirika Singh ( 252) won the girls’ category A ahead of Japneet Kaur and Jasmann Kaur. In the boys’ category C, Vedant Sirohi ( 256) finished ahead of Shat Mishra and Aarush Marwah. The girls’ section was won by Hitashee Bakshi ( 252).

The tournament witnessed participat­ion of 95 junior golfers.
