Mittal reappointed Rail Board chief
New Delhi: The government on Friday reappointed A. K. Mittal as chairman of the Railway Board ( CRB) for two years, two days before his retirement. Mr Mittal, due to retire July 31, is the first such officer to be reappointed.
Two days before his retirement, Railway Board chairman A. K. Mittal has been reappointed to the same position for two more years. The decision to reappoint Mr Mittal was taken by the PMO in a bid to give continuity to the ongoing works in Railways. With this extension, Mr Mittal, who took over as CRB on January 1, 2015, will have a tenure of over three- and- a- half years, making him the longest serving head of the railway board.
