Jaya Prada in UP Film Council

Lucknow: The Akhilesh government in Uttar Pradesh has nominated actor- turned politician Jaya Prada as the senior vice- chairperson of the UP Film Development Council. She will enjoy the status of a Cabinet minister. Eminent poet Gopal Das “Neeraj” was recently appointed the chairperson of the council, which is an advisory body formed to suggest ways and means to the state government to promote film productionrelated activity in the state. The appointment of Ms Jaya Prada is likely to pacify SP MP Amar Singh, who had recently claimed that he was not being given due respect in the party.
