BJP threatens to make CAG report public

-

The Delhi BJP on Saturday challenged Arvind Kejriwal government to put CAG report on advertisements in the public domain. The party also decided to approach various RWAs of the national capital and apprise people about the report which has exposed the misuse of public funds by Kejriwal government. Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay said that if government does not announce a special session of Assembly to table the CAG report before the people, BJP will call a Lok Vidhansabha at Jantar Mantar.

Mr Upadhyay said that from the year 2010 till the present, people of Delhi have repeatedly heard Mr Kejriwal and his deputy, Manish Sisodia, that for them CAG report is like a religious scripture and they have always promised transparent governance.

“Strangely today the same Mr Kejriwal and Mr Sisodia are not only running away from placing the report before the people, but the deputy CM has shown his frustration by saying that how the CAG report has come to the knowledge of the leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly is to be inquired. It seems the reason for the government’s frustration on CAG report coming in public domain is that this report can convince the people about Kejriwal government’s misuse of public money on advertisements in other states with an intent of political expansion,” added Mr Upadhyay.

According to Mr Gupta, the CAG has forwarded its audit report to the Delhi government on its financial irregularities during the period 2015- 16, but Mr Sisodia did not submit the report before the House and twice lied that this report had not been received.
