New Delhi, Aug. 27: A cobra and a common sand boa have been rescued from snake charmers in Dwarka, a wildlife NGO said on Saturday. The snakes are currently under the care of Wildlife SOS and will be released into their natural habitat, once deemed fit. The NGO in a statement said its Rapid Response unit received a call about two snake charmers in a residential colony in Dwarka’s Sector- 15, who were exploiting the snakes to dupe the public into believing that they brought good luck and had medicinal values. A two- member rescue team arrived at the location and rescued the snakes. Geeta Seshamani, co- founder of Wildlife SOS, said, “Capturing snakes and using them for display and entertainment is banned.”
