Why is this carpet special?
The central square in Brussels, Belgium, was witness to a grand spectacle — exquisite fresh flowers laid out as a carpet measuring 75 × 25 sq. m. The carpet consisted of dahlias, grasses, bark, and about 300 blooms. According to My Modern Met, the carpet roll was the 20th iteration in a bi- annual tradition that was launched in the year 1971. Belgian non- profit organisation Tapis de Fleur would assemble a group of professional artists like illustrators, graphic designers, and landscape architects to create the stunning flower carpet.
