Mishra takes three, Ashwin two as India bowl West Indies out for 143 in second T20

-

Lauderhill ( Florida), Aug. 28: After a one- run defeat in a high- scoring thriller in the first T20, India came all guns blazing to bowl the West Indies out for 143 in 19.4 overs in the second and final match here.

Spinners Amit Mishra, who replaced seaming allrounder Stuart Binny, and R. Ashwin picked up five wickets between them.

Unlike the first match, the West Indies found it tough to get going. The dismissal of Keiron Pollard ( 13) was Ashwin’s 200th in this format, the most by an Indian.

Young Jasprit Bumrah bowled exceptionally well and finished his quota of four overs by giving just 26 runs and got two wickets. With 28 wickets, Bumrah also became the highest wicket- taker in T20I in 2016.

The West Indies openers, Johnson Charles and Evin Lewis, who shared a 126run stand for the first wicket in the first match, didn’t have the same luck on Sunday as Shami broke the stand early by dismissing Lewis with a surprise and quick bouncer.

Charles, however, continued his excellent form, finishing with 25- ball 43, which was the highest score for his side.

Explosive all- rounder Cralos Brathwaite was dismissed for 18 by leg spinner Mishra.
