MP MANTRI’S SON GETS BAIL IN PONZI SCAM
Bhopal: Son of a senior minister in the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government, allegedly involved in a 80 crore Ponzi scam, on Tuesday surrendered before a local court in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh following a warrant issued against him in connection with the case. The additional district sessions court, Raisen, which issued the warrant on Monday in connection with a case relating to duping of investors to the tune of 80 crore by a private finance company, let off Abhishek — son of minister for rural development and panchayat raj Gopal Bhargav — on bail after he surrendered before it. Abhishek is also vice- president of state unit of BJP’s youth wing, ABVP. The minister’s son, however, pleaded innocence, saying that he was framed in the case by some BJP leaders. “I have no link whatsoever with the finance company,” he told reporters after getting bail. His father, known to be a bitter critic of chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, was expected to raise issues in the state executive meeting to put party leadership in the state in embarrassment. The junior Bhargav demanded a CBI probe into the case and declared that he would commit suicide if found guilty after investigation.
