Google is expected to reveal its latest Pixel flagship early next month. The Pixel line will supposedly be replacing Google's Nexus brand. However, it seems like there's more to expect from the October 4 event than just phones. Google is also preparing top review the Android-Chrome OS merger namely Andromeda alongside the two Pixel devices - the Pixel and Pixel XL, as per reports by 9 to 5 Google.

The reports contain evidence of a file named 'Surface Composition Test.java' discovered within Android 7.0 Nougat AOSP testing, which is believed to directly refer to Andromeda, multiple times. The testing tool goes on to mention how the minimum score needed for Andromeda is 8.0, while Android needs a score of just 4.0.

' Google is testing the Chrome OS/ Android hybrid on the tablet. An anonymous source has told us of users running early builds of Andromeda on the Nexus 9, but we have not been able to obtain direct confirmation from those users,' reports 9 to 5 Google.

Adding to the rumour is a recent tweet by Hiroshi Lockheimer, Senior VP for Android - ' We announced the 1st version of Android 8 years ago today. I have a feeling 8 years from now we'll be talking about Oct 4, 2016.' Android Police speculates the above tweet may also be referring to Andromeda.

The first of its kind, an Android- Chrome OS merger - Andromeda is expected to ease the laptop, tablet and all the other 2- in- 1 devices' experience for the convenience of the users. All rumours will be put to rest on October 4.
