The Delhi police cracked the murder case of PGT teacher of a government school in Nangloi within 12 hours. One accused has been arrested and one juvenile apprehended. The 50- year- old school teacher was allegedly stabbed to death by two Class 12 students on being rusticated over low attendance. The police said that it was not the first time that the juvenile was rusticated for missing classes and showing delinquent behaviour. Sources, meanwhile, said that the police are likely to consider treating the juvenile as an adult for committing a brutal attack which was heinous in nature.

“On Monday evening, an 18- year- old boy, Vivek Kumar Jha, and his 17year- old classmate, both students of Class 12 in the Government Senior Secondary Boys School at Kirari Mod, allegedly stabbed their class teacher, Mukesh Kumar, for refusing to allow him to sit for the semester examination over low attendance,” said a senior police official.

“This is not the first time that the 17- year- old accused was rusticated. Earlier in May this year, he was rusticated on the grounds of missing classes and exhibiting misdemeanour in class. However, he was reinstated. Meanwhile, this time around, the 17- yearold along with Jha, who was also on the verge of getting rusticated on similar grounds, went up to Kumar,” said the official.

Sitting in an empty classroom on the first floor, Kumar was busy compiling the answer sheets when finding him alone, Jha, along with the juvenile, went up to him and started arguing with him over allowing them to sit in the semester examination. Infuriated over his refusal, they started punching and stabbing him.
