did the artist turn trash into art?

- AGE CORRESPONDENT

For Portuguese artist Bordalo II, the main part of creating his sculptures is hunting for trash all over his vicinity. The artist then turns his finds into stunning animal sculptures. He gathers worn out tyres, plastic wastes, bumpers and door panels to create his artworks, reports This Is Colossal.

He also bolts the trash onto buildings and as a final touch, uses spray paint to give a realistic appearance.

This is an attempt to create nature with the things that deconstruct it. Through his art, he attempts to create awareness about the damage our uncontrollable production causes to the environment.

Bordalo was one of many artists who participated in the Unexpected Art Project in Arkansas. Some of his works were a giant fox and an opossum. He also constructed a flying squirrel at Street Art Jam 2016 in Estonia.
