Bamford apologises for tweet
Patrick Bamford has been forced to apologise after the on- loan Chelsea striker made a social media blunder in the aftermath of his parent club’s loss at Arsenal.
Bamford is at Burnley following his latest temporary move but ‘ liked’ Mesut Ozil and Hector Bellerin’s Instagram posts celebrating Arsenal’s 30 win over the Blues on Saturday.
His endorsement of Chelsea’s defeat sparked anger among fans given Bamford is still on the books at Stamford Bridge.
And the 23- year- old striker issued an apology on social media, claiming he was friends with Arsenal duo Ozil and Bellerin. “With regards 2 the Instagram pics I liked, was only liking my friends pics as I’ve done many a time. No shade or disrespect intended. Sorry,” Bamford wrote on Twitter.
Bamford looks destined never to make the grade at Chelsea despite being viewed as one of the club’s most promising academy players.
