Husband stabs man for ‘ affair’ with wife

Security personnel rescued a 25- year- old man who was found in critical condition after suffering stab wounds from Orissa’s Angul district on Tuesday night.

The man was allegedly stabbed by the husband of a woman with whom he was reportedly having an affair.

The victim, identified as Kailash Dehuri of Santri village under Banarpala police limits in the district, suffered multiple stabbing wounds on his chest and lower shoulders. He was admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital ( DHH), nearly 150 kilometres from Bhubaneswar.

According to reports, the victim had an affair with a 32- year- old married woman who was staying alone with her two children near Similipada Chhak in a rented house for over a year after repeated problems with her husband.

The woman had reportedly developed a physical relationship with Kailash, and the latter used to visit her house frequently, reports said.

At around midnight on Tuesday, the woman’s husband paid an unexpected visit to the house and found the victim with her wife. He then attacked Kailash with a knife.

The police has detained the accused at police station and is investigating the matter.

“After attacking the youth, the accused fled the sport. The police has registered a case and launched a search for the woman’s husband. We are also questioning the woman about the reasons of her disturbances with her husband and relationship with the youth to establish the cause of the attack,” the local police said.
