I FEEL NO PRESSURE OF LOOKING GOOD: SONAM

- JANANI K

Being a star- kid, Sonam Kapoor has definitely broken the stereotypes attached to the tag and created a special place for herself in Bollywood. Be it her debut in Saawariya or the recently released Neerja, Sonam brings out the best of each character. We catch up with the fashionista, who has constantly re- invented herself onscreen and off- screen.

The Raanjhanaa actress made heads turn by wearing a goldembroidered gown for Cannes Film Festival 2016. Speaking about it, she says, “My sister Rhea Kapoor, along with the jewellery brand, designed a special custom- made temple style jhumkas which I paired up with my golden outfit,” she explains.

When asked if she feels the pressure of looking her best all the time, she says, “Oh! I feel no pressure at all since I love dressing up. I try doing my best and I have an excellent team.” Also, celebrities being photographed at airports have irked few actors in the country. But, Sonam has a simple mantra, which is, ‘ Be comfortable and stylish!’

The svelte actress, who acted opposite Dhanush in his debut Hindi film Ranjhaana, says that she follows the works of Dhanush and Rajinikanth from the South film industry. She also expressed an interest in making her debut in Tamil: I will definitely grab the opportunity when I have a fantastic script in hand.” About selecting a script, she answers, “I have been very picky when it comes to films. I only think of one thing before signing the agreement. I accept a film that excites me and that can make me a better artiste.”
