Govt has no role: MHA

Centre seems to be distancing itself from the visit of a civil society group led by senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha which met some separatist leaders in the Kashmir Valley on Tuesday in a bid to find a solution the ongoing unrest in the region that virtually crippled normal life. Senior home ministry officials while pleading ignorance over the issue said the five-member panel seems to have gone to the Valley “on its own wisdom” and the Central Government had nothing to do with it. The delegation, officials said, had not informed the Centre about their visit and it was not aware of the initiative being taken by them.
