SEX CD: SACKED DELHI MINISTER SEEKS BAIL
Former Delhi government minister Sandeep Kumar, who was arrested by the Delhi police in connection with a rape case, approached a special court on Tuesday seeking bail on the ground that investigation in the case was complete. The court after accepting his bail application fixed the matter for October 26 to hear arguments in the case. Mr Kumar, in his plea filed through advocate Nitin Ahlawat, said he has been in custody for nearly two months and the probe in the case was also complete. The counsel said that the MLA’s conduct since the lodging of the FIR was good and “unquestionable” and he had himself surrendered before the police. Pleading that Mr Kumar be allowed to celebrate Diwali with his family, the counsel said the case was based on a CD which cannot be tampered with. Mr Kumar, who was arrested on September 3, is currently in judicial custody. The court had earlier allowed his plea to be produced through video conferencing till filing of the chargesheet as he apprehended threat to life from his political opponents and other miscreants during transportation from jail to court.
